Eye injuries can be very serious as it affects your vision. Although minor eye injuries can temporary affect your sight, full recovery is usually expected within 6 months. Major eye accidents can result in permanent loss of sight and can cause drastic changes to your life style.

Nose injury (Up to £17,500)

You could be awarded up to £17,500 as compensation for suffering a nose injury in an accident.

Most nose injuries are caused in a collision accident such as a road traffic accident; or by medical negligence following a botched nose job surgery; or from falling onto your nose following a slip or trip. Nose surgery may be needed to rectify any nose deformities following fractures to your nose.

Facial disfigurement and scarring (£1,300 ~ £74,000)

You could be awarded between £1,300 and £74,000 as compensation for suffering facial disfigurement and scarring in an accident.

Any facial disfigurement and permanent scarring can lower a person’s self-esteem and confidence. It can also damage a person’s career, particularly people who work as a model. Your compensation award will scale depending on where the cosmetic defect appears; whether the scar can be covered with makeup; whether it is noticeable at conversation distance; if it has affected your work life and future career; and if the scarring has caused the development of any psychological disorders such as anxiety.

Facial fractures (£11,300 ~ £27,900)

You could be awarded between £11,300 and £27,900 as compensation for suffering facial fractures in an accident.

A LeFort fracture is a facial fracture across the front of the skull. Serious LeFort fractures will result in some form of facial deformity that will require reconstructive surgery to rebuild the face. Multiple facial fractures are most often caused during high impact collision accidents such as road traffic accidents.

Fractured cheekbone (£1,700 ~ £4,900)

You could be awarded between £1,700 and £4,900 as compensation for suffering a broken cheekbone in an accident.

It usually takes about 2 months to make a full recovery from a simple cheekbone fracture, even after surgery. Cheekbone damage can be suffered in collision accidents with cars or hard objects when falling.

Serious cheekbone fracture (£7,700 ~ £12,000)

You could be awarded between £7,700 and £12,000 as compensation for suffering a serious cheekbone fracture in an accident.

Reconstructive surgery will be necessary when serious fractures to the cheekbones have been suffered. Your injury can result in paraesthesia, which is a pins and needles sensation felt in the cheeks or lips. Some cheekbone fractures can also result in some element of cosmetic disfigurement.

Mouth injury (Up to £29,000)

It is very common to lose a tooth or two after suffering a mouth injury accident. Your compensation award will depend on how many teeth have been affected, and whether they are your front teeth or your back teeth. Fractured jaw (£4,900 ~ £6,600)

You could be awarded between £4,900 and £6,600 as compensation for suffering a broken jaw in an accident.

A broken jaw is suffered when an impact injury fractures your jaw bone. A simple and uncomplicated jaw fracture will usually take about 2 months to make a full recovery. During this period you may be required to wear a jaw immobiliser to aid recovery.

Serious jaw fracture (£13,600 ~ £34,600)

You could be awarded between £13,600 and £34,600 as compensation for suffering a severe jaw fracture in a serious accident.

Serious jaw fractures can cause permanent jaw movement damage. This can result in difficulty in opening the mouth when speaking or eating. It can also cause severe jaw pain, paraesthesia (pins and needles in the jaw) and increased risk of arthritis developing in the joints.
