Scott Rees & Co has announced that they are participating in Will Aid this year.

Throughout November we will be offering people the opportunity to have a simple Will, professionally drawn up without us receiving a a single penny for the service.

Instead, in an attempt to raise as much money as possible, all we ask is for people to make a donation to the Will Aid charities with the suggested donation level being £90 for a single basic Will, £135 for a pair of Wills.

The money raised by the scheme is going to be shared between nine of the UK’s best known charities, all of whom work hard to transform the lives of people in the UK and around the world. They include: ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).

Making a Will is one of the most thoughtful and important things we can do to protect those we love. Yet it is surprising that fewer than half of people have made one. Most say they simply haven’t got around to it and yet it can take years to sort out someone’s estate if they die without a Will, leaving their nearest and dearest in great distress.

The purpose of Will Aid is to encourage people to find the time to make the will they have always struggled to get round to whilst helping the charities named above raise money so that they can continue the good work they do.

Scott Rees Partner, David Byrne has praised the initiative saying: “Will Aid is a great way for firms who offer a will writing service such as ourselves to help those who are less fortunate. When we heard that it was being run we didn’t hesitate to get involved and we hope to raise a great amount of money for the 9 charities that Will Aid is supporting.”
