Scott Rees & Co’s founding Partner, Daniel Rees and Compliance Partner, Paul Meredith took part in the Liverpool Half Marathon 2013 on Sunday, alongside 8000 other runners and came away smiling as the both set new personal bests.
Daniel, who is a keen runner, set a new personal best of 1.26.52 to finish an impressive third for his age group, and 163rd overall, whilst Paul finished the course in 1.46.39, in his first attempt at the distance.
Both Daniel and Paul were delighted with their efforts over the 13.1 mile, UKA Licensed course, and in conclusion to the race Paul said: “This was my first ever race, and I hadn’t been able to do any training due to injury, so I was happy with my time. Obviously I had to keep a respectful distance back from Daniel or it would have been a lot quicker!”
Daniel added: “I was delighted as my previous PB was 1.28.05, so to beat it by over a minute was a satisfying achievement.”
Sunday’s race was the largest Half Marathon the city of Liverpool has staged since the race was started 20 years ago and was run by a whole host of local and international runners. The race started and finished inside Princes Park which was a first for the event and the runners can enjoy the scenic views of Sefton Park as they run through, as well as the historic docks that are so recognisable to the city.
If you have suffered from injuries whilst running in the marathon or any sporting injury in general, you may be entitled to claim for compensation. Contact Scott Rees solicitors today to discuss whether you have a valid claim or not.
