Scott Rees and Co, are once again supporting a nationally run initiative designed at raising money for charity by offering will writing services at the cost of a charitable donation.

Will Aid, which was founded in 1988, was launched to help fundraise for charities that offers support families that are forced to face up to poor living conditions on a daily basis, children that are at risk from illness or abuse and age support charities among others.

Since it was launched it has raised over £15.6million, with last year seeing £2.1million raised in donations to the cause.

There are nine charities that will benefit from the scheme. They include Action Aid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trōcaire.

Last year Scott Rees and Co’s own participation in Will Aid saw them raise an incredible £1,981.25 and they will be hoping that to raise even more money this year.

Keen to stress the importance of the initiative, not only to the charities it supports but to members of the public in general, Scott Rees and Co Marketing Partner, David Byrne, expressed his delight at being involved in Will Aid once more.

He said: “Will Aid really is a superb idea which benefits not only the various charities that it supports but the people across the UK in general as it raises important awareness of the importance of making a will.”

“Having offered will writing services for many years here at Scott Rees and Co, we have seen first hand the stress and upset, that is brought about when someone passes away without making a will, so we cannot stress enough the importance of looking into this, regardless of your age or health.”

“Looking after what belongs to you and what means the most to you is so important and Will Aid clearly encourages people to do that, so long may it continue and we as a firm are delighted to once again be supporting it.”

She said: “Last year was a real success and it is rewarding to know that not only did we raise so much money for worthwhile charities, but more people made a move to protect themselves and their loved ones in the future.”

Will Aid takes place throughout November every year and the suggested voluntary donation by the initiative is £95 for a single Will or £150 for a pair of mirror wills. All money raised from will be divided equally across the above listed charities.
