The troop is the oldest of its kind in the town with more than 70 years of history.
The facilities and equipment on Barnes Road are in much need of investment, especially now that the council has just granted it a new 15 year lease.
Scott Rees solicitor Simon Shaw was on hand to present the members of the 1st Skelmersdale Scout group with a cheque for £250 at their fund-raising evening.
Organiser of the evening Assistant Scout Leader, Victoria McHugh said:
“This was a lot more than we expected when we contacted Scott Rees. Usually when we approach people for donations we would happily expect a bottle of wine to raffle off but this really is very generous and we are very grateful for the support.”
