We are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our support of Skelmersdale Cricket Club for another season. Scott Rees and Co partner, Lucie Illingworth, was on hand to present club chairman, Tony Manley with a cheque for £2,000. Money which will go towards supporting the Senior and Junior sections at the club

Receiving the cheque, Tony was quick to pass on his thanks to the firm, saying: “We are truly grateful for all of the support Scott Rees and Co continues to offer us year upon year. Their support helps us to continue to grow and improve as a club and hopefully with their backing for another season we can follow up last year’s promotion with another good showing this time around.”

Following last season’s success, which saw the 1st XI promoted as second division champions, the club will be hoping to consolidate their position in their new division.

Upon presenting the cheque, Lucie praised the team on last season’s achievements and wished them luck for the upcoming year.

“The club’s achievement last season was fantastic and we are proud to sponsor such a well run club. Hopefully we will see the club progress further in a slightly tougher division this season and add to their successes.”

Support for Junior Cricket

She also took time to appreciate the work the club does with children in the local area, saying:

“It is great to see a local team giving something back to the young people within our local community. The most important thing with taking part in any sport is to have fun and Skelmersdale Cricket Club certainly seems to be providing that for all ages. They should be incredibly proud of this.”

Skelmersdale begin their First Division campaign on Saturday 22nd April, when they travel to take on Prestatyn CC 1st XI. Meanwhile their second team, who finished eighth last season, will entertain Old Xaverians at Scott Rees Park.
