Scott Rees & Co solicitors entered two specially arranged football tournaments last week and performed well, as they made it to the semi finals in both.
On Wednesday, the firm’s team, led by Jamie Hornby, travelled to the Soccerdome in Wigan to take part in the Italia 90 Rewind Cup organised for solicitors and accountants by the Lucozade Power League.
Each team were offered a country from the original tournament in 1990 to play as for the day, with Scott Rees choosing Uruguay.
After winning four games and drawing one, the team were just two wins away from glory but unfortunately they came unstuck and were soundly beaten by two goals to nil.
Then on Friday they travelled to Netherton, in Liverpool, to take part in the Southport and Ormskirk Junior Lawyer Division’s, first ever charity football tournament.
Scott Rees trainee solicitors Tracy Tai and Laura Campbell are both on the social committee for the JLD and helped to arrange the event which saw the firm’s team repeat their achievement of making the semi finals, before losing 3-1 on this occasion.
Overall these were two good performances by the team from Scott Rees & Co as the Newton-le-willows-based personal injury firm continue to support local community events.
