Scott Rees & Co has welcomed four new trainee Paralegals to the firm as they continue the firm’s outstanding reputation for growth within the profession, despite the profession falling on harder times in recent years due to Government reforms.
Jamie Mooney, Laura Barnes, Jessica Grayson and Prosper Mwedzi have all joined the firm in recent weeks as trainee Paralegals, to help the firm continue to give first class legal aid to those in need, while taking their career in law to the next level.
Jamie Mooney, who is originally from Bradford, has joined Scott Rees & Co after being advised on the positive learning culture by his wife, Janine, who has been a paralegal with the firm herself, since 2013.
For Jamie, this is his first step in the legal industry and he is highly optimistic about his future in the legal profession. Explaining his decision, he said: “My wife advised me of the vacancy and told me it was a great place to work, so I decided to give being a paralegal a go and I am looking forward to progressing here at Scott Rees and Co.”
Laura Barnes also joins Scott Rees & Co, following the completion of her law degree at Edge Hill University. Talking about her experience since joining Scott Rees and Co, Laura said: “No two days are the same here and there are genuine routes for career progression available.”
Laura, who is originally from Maghull and now lives in Bootle, says she is a typical Liverpool girl. “I’m loud and I don’t mind voicing my opinions. I will help anyone who needs it. Being able to help people is the reason I chose to pursue a career in law and I am so happy Scott Rees & Co are helping me to do just that.”
Also joining the firm is Jessica Grayson, 22, and lives locally in Skelmersdale. Jessica has always had an interest in the legal profession and jumped at the chance when she heard that Scott Rees & Co were looking to bolster their ranks.
When asked about joining Scott Rees and Co. Jessica said: “The opportunity to work at Scott Rees and Co has opened up so many doors for me and I am really enjoying learning about the law and how it can help people.”
Away from being a legal eagle, Jessica has a keen interest in classic cars and tells us that she is currently looking for a project to work on. Her other interests include travelling and looking after animals.
Last, but not least to join Scott Rees & Co is Prosper Mwedzi. Prosper joins the firm after finishing his studies at the University of Central Lancashire. He has also worked at Edge Hill University and Tandem Law in Preston and has a vast knowledge of the law.
Prosper is a fluent in Shona speaker, which is a native language from Zimbabwe. Scott Rees & Co has always been proud of their diversity and we are pleased to add another multi-lingual legal professional to our team, who will allow us to extend our services to Shona-speaking clients.
Scott Rees & Co are proactive when it comes for developing the best talent and we are extremely pleased to welcome Jamie, Prosper, Jessica and Laura to the team.
Managing Partner, Royston Smith, welcomed the new recruits to the firm, saying: “I am delighted to welcome four fresh faces of the legal profession, to Scott Rees & Co. We have always strived to offer our staff the best development opportunities available to them within the legal profession and we have a proud record of moulding future talent because of this.”
“I would like to take this opportunity to wish Jessica, Prosper, Laura and Jamie good luck on their journey with the firm and I hope they can benefit from the support they will receive here at Scott Rees and Co.”
