Scott Rees & Co continues to support cancer charity!
This year’s World Biggest Coffee Morning was a huge success at Scott Rees & Co as they managed to raise £373.70 for MacMillan Cancer support, beating last years total by over £80 in the process.
Scott Rees and Co have participated in the nationwide initiative for the last seven years and year-on-year they have managed to beat their previous best total.
Kathryn Grass, who once again organised the event, thanked everyone for their support, saying: “Last year we made it our aim to pass the £300, which we have managed with ease, which of course is a fantastic achievement.”
Marketing Partner at the firm, David Byrne, followed this up by praising the firm’s efforts and the initiative on the whole, saying: “A big thank you has to go to Kathryn for once again coordinating our version of the coffee morning. We are hugely proud of the effort she and all of those who took the time to bake cakes, have put in and of the fact we were able to raise so much money.”
“Most people have been affected by cancer in someway, whether it is through a friend or family, but fundraising initiatives like the coffee morning, are helping researchers reduce the number of people who are losing their lives and moving us closer everyday towards finding a cure for this terrible disease.”
The organisers at MacMillan, have already announced that they expect this year’s total funds raised to pass the £25million mark, raised in 2014 and revealed that overall, an extra 13,000 people had taken part this year with 225,000 registering in 2014.
