Scott Rees & Co’s participation in Will Aid proved a massive success, with the Skelmersdale based legal firm raising £1,981.25 for a range of different UK charities.
The initiative, which takes place in November each year, sees legal firms across the UK open up their Will writing services in exchange of a donation which goes towards supporting a host of charities including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, Sightsavers, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (N. Ireland).
Scott Rees & Co Marketing Partner David Byrne was delighted with how the scheme went saying: “This has been a good year in terms of our support for charities and businesses both locally and nationally and Will Aid was no exception.
“To do so well with a scheme that helps to raise money for those who are less fortunate is fantastic and at this time of year it is more than important than ever than people receive this kind of support.
“The other thing Will Aid has done is show people how important it is to make a will. No one really likes to think about it but it in the worst case scenario it really is better to have peace of mind that you family and loved ones are taken care of, whatever happens. We are truly delighted with the response we have received.”
Throughout the year Scott Rees & Co has remained particularly proactive when it comes to offering their support to initiatives such as Will Aid. Through sponsorship and fundraising in 2013 the firm have raised, sponsored or donated in excess of £6,000 towards local sports teams, organisations or charities.
