We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Ashton Town AFC for the 2019/2020 football season!

The sponsorship deal, agreed in May 2019, means the ground that Ashton Town AFC play on will be renamed as The Scott Rees & Co Stadium with immediate effect.

We also agreed to sponsor the Man of the Match award to take place after every match next season, so keep your eyes peeled on the winners!

We would like to thank Mark Hayes, Chairman of Ashton Town AFC, for this sponsorship opportunity. In these very exciting times, we hope that this will be the start of a successful partnership and that we can celebrate the future of Ashton Town AFC’s successes together!

Joseph’s Goal charity football game in May 2019

Josephs Goal 2017 Latics Legends vs Dutch Masters at Ashton-in-Makerfield

The first match to be played at the Scott Rees & Co Stadium will be the Joseph’s Goal Charity Game between the Latics Legends and the Manchester United Legends.

Ashton Town AFC annually hosts a charity Legends game in aid of Joseph Kendrick, who has NKH (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia). NKH is a very rare life-limiting genetic disorder that severely affects the development of the sufferer. The charity was set up to increase the awareness of NKH to raise funds for research to find a cure.

In past years Ashton Town AFC have held charity matches against the cast of Hollyoaks, Dutch Legends, Manchester City Legends and this year, the Scott Rees & Co Stadium will be graced by the Manchester United Legends.

Some of the Latics Legends who have already agreed to play this year include Emmerson Boyce, Arjan de Zeeuw, Paul Cook (current Wigan Athletic manager), Nathan Ellington, Pascal Chimbonda, Neill Rimmer, Donald Page, Kevin Sharp, Ian Kilford and Pat McGibbon.

They will have the unfortunate task of taking on the Legendary Bryan Robson’s Manchester United XI on Saturday, May 25 2019.

If you are interested in supporting Joseph’s Goal charity and watching these past Legends in action in Ashton-in-Makerfield, you can buy tickets from the Ticket Office at DW Stadium, home to Wigan Athletic. The ticket prices are £10 for adults and £5 for OAPs and Under 16s. For more information or to buy tickets in person, please call 01942 311111.
