David Byrne presents Skelmersdale CC Chairman Tom Holland with the sponsorship cheque
Scott Rees & Co Solicitors have announced that they will be renewing their sponsorship of Skelmersdale Cricket Club (CC) for a seventh consecutive year as they continue to be ‘bowled over’ by their partnership with the club.
It means that the ground where the team play their home matches will remain as Scott Rees Park for another 12 months and it is hoped that the annual challenge between the best the firm can muster and the current Liverpool and District Second Division side will continue long into 2015.
Speaking about the renewal of their sponsorship, Scott Rees & Co Marketing Partner David Byrne presenting a cheque for £2,000 to club chairman, Tom Holland said: “Over the past six years we have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with the club and are only too happy to continue to offer our support moving into the 2014 season.
“We hope that with our support the team can enjoy a successful season and as with every year we look forward to taking them on in the Annual Challenge match in the summer.”
Last season Skelmerdale’s first team had a decent season, finishing mid-table in the league and this year they will be hoping to kick on from that.
Club Vice President, Bill Regan was full of optimism looking forwards and thanked the firm saying: “On behalf of the Committee and players of Skelmersdale Cricket Club, I would like to thank Scott Rees & Co for their generosity in continuing to sponsor our club for the 2014 season. It is very much appreciated.
“The relationship between Scott Rees & Co and Skelmersdale Cricket Club is very important, not only to the club but to the members of Skelmersdale CC. Their support is helping provide us with a promising future concerning the young people of Skelmersdale and West Lancs to develop a love of cricket.”
Attention will now draw to the Annual Cricket Challenge, which this year will consist of two fixtures.
The first will be the traditional cricket match, to be held at Scott Rees Park on the 27th June and the second will be a football match between the two a week later on the 4th July, with the venue to be confirmed.
Last year Scott Rees & Co posted their highest ever batting total in the cricket but it wasn’t enough to earn the victory.
Since founded in 1992, Scott Rees & Co have pledged their support to many different local and national organisations as they strive to help the community for which they serve.
