Scott Rees & Co solicitors attended the Chinese New Year celebrations of the Snake in Liverpool on Sunday after getting ready for it all week!
Our attendees celebrated the day by witnessing lion dancing, unicorn dancing, dragon dancing and firecrackers throughout the day. Six of our nine Chinese members of staff attended the VIP dinner, hosted by the Liverpool Chinese Business Association, at the New China Restaurant. Here we were treated to a traditional Chinese banquet and entertainment from local and international performers. The evening celebrations and dinner was presented by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Orient Express presenter, Billy Hui.
At Scott Rees & Co, who were one of the event’s main sponsors, we employ 9 members of staff from Chinese origins. As we wanted to celebrate this special occasion with our Chinese member of staff, we decided to sponsor their Chinese New Yew event in Liverpool. Liverpool has always been a very multi-cultural city and has one of the most traditional and oldest Chinese communities across Europe.
Scott Rees and Co Partner, Lucie Driscoll, who attended the evening said: “The evening was thoroughly enjoyable and it was great to experience the culture of some of my colleagues alongside them.”
A solicitor of Scott Rees & Co, Michael Wan also attended the evening. He said: “I was delighted when I heard that the firm would be sponsoring the event, as it is a very important one to the Chinese community. The meal was fantastic and we all enjoyed the evening’s entertainment.”
