A local Skelmersdale football team, set up to provide sporting opportunities for athletes with intellectual difficulties, has thanked Scott Rees and Co after the firm participated in an evening of 7-a-side football at the JMO sports park in Skelmersdale.

Scott Rees regularly takes part in community events and were invited by the Skem Men-Aces to play the fixture a few weeks back. What followed was a great evening played in the right spirit with plenty of goals, fun and laughter to accompany.

Manager of the Skem Men-aces, Carl Eaton was full of praise for their opponents for the night saying: “What a fabulous night of football. The Skem Men-Aces got together with Scott Rees & Co for matches against three of our own teams. The scores were put to insignificance as the banter, laughter and sportsmanship was for all to see.

“Our lads had a fantastic night of footy and it must be said that the lads of Scott Rees & Co were magnificent sports and treated the whole event with the respect it deserved. My sincere thanks go to Jay and his team for giving the Aces this opportunity and after speaking to Jay I know more games will follow.

“Events like this gives the Men-Aces the opportunity to keep raising their profile and brings awareness to this club that simply keeps going from strength to strength.”

Scott Rees and Co captain, legal assistant Jamie Hornby thanked the Men-Aces for a great evening. He said: “We would just like to say a massive thanks to all the lads at Skem Men-Aces. It was a fantastic night and some great games of football to go with it.”
