Scott Rees and Co Raise £705 for Children in Need

As most of you know, last week was Children in Need, where people from up and down the country attempt to raise as much money as possible to help children who are less fortunate.

This was no different at Skelmersdale based, personal injury solicitors, Scott Rees and Co, who managed to clear their fundraising total from last year, to raise £705.28 for the charity appeal.

Last year, the firm fell agonisingly short of the £700 mark, raising £680 but there was to be no stopping the staff from clearing that mark this year and setting a new firm record for the amount raised.

As per usual the day was co-ordinated by Post Supervisor, Tony Hedley, who arranged a collection from those members of staff who were working on the day, as well as the usual Children in Need raffle (donated prizes pictured left), which brought in most of the donations. At the end of the fundraising, Tony offered everyone a ‘huge thanks’ to everyone for their generosity.

Following this up, Scott Rees and Co Marketing Partner, David Byrne, spoke of his pride in the staff, saying: “This is yet another fantastic fundraising effort by the staff at our firm. A huge thank you should go to Tony who arranges the Children in Need raffle each year and also the overall collection from the staff.”

“The target was to beat last years total, so to clear it and the £700 mark, truly is a great achievement and everyone who donated and got involved can be really proud.”

Overall this year’s Children in Need appeal was a massive success, breaking its own fundraising record to raise over £37million and clearing 2014’s total by nearly £5million. This was in spite of the annual TV appeal losing their traditional spearhead, Terry Wogan, due to ill health and suffering their lowest figures in nine years, which was mainly attributed to the shocking breaking news from Paris.

It will have to be some effort next year for Scott Rees and Co to better their total again but no doubt the staff at the firm will be well and truly up for the challenge.
