Scott Rees Solicitor, Maryam Khan was invited to present the 7th Annual Scottish Asian Business Awards last week in Glasgow. The awards were held in the Thistle Hotel and it is the second time that Maryam has been invited to be a part of the ceremony, as she also presented the English equivalent earlier this year.
On being asked to present at the awards, Maryam said: “It really is a great privilege for me to be invited to present at events like the business awards.”
As well as recognising the achievements of Asian men and women at the forefront of their industries the event raised over £4,000 for The British Asian Trust. Set up by the Prince of Wales, the charity serves as a ‘social fund’ to support high impact charities within the areas of education, enterprise and health. Since it was formed in 2009 the charity has helped over 350,000 people in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the UK.
