You could be awarded up to £5,300 as compensation for suffering slight levels of noise induced hearing loss caused by your work environment.

Noise induced hearing loss is also known as industrial deafness. It is hearing loss caused by damage to your hearing from being repeatedly exposed to excessively loud sounds. Hearing loss is very common among people who work in noisy industries such as in airport groundwork, factory work, industrial manufacturing, construction, mining and more. If your employer has failed to supply you with appropriate hearing protection, then you could be entitled to claim for hearing loss.

Tinnitus (Up to £22,600)

You could be awarded up to £22,600 as compensation for suffering tinnitus as a result of your work environment.

Tinnitus is a hearing condition where you hear ringing or buzzing sounds from inside your head. Tinnitus can develop naturally with age, but it can also be caused by repeated exposure to loud noises. If your employer has failed to protect your hearing from your loud working environment, then you could be entitled to industrial deafness compensation. Tinnitus and noise induced hearing loss are often suffered together.

Noise induced hearing loss (£5,600 ~ £34,600)

You could be awarded between £5,600 and £34,600 as compensation for suffering mild to severe noise induced hearing loss caused by your work environment.

Partial hearing loss and tinnitus are common hearing conditions caused by working in excessively loud environments. If your employer has failed to supply you with appropriate hearing protection, then you could be entitled to claim for work-related hearing loss. Your compensation award will depend on the severity of your noise induced hearing loss, and whether tinnitus is suffered alongside your hearing loss.

Deaf in one ear (£23,800 ~ £34,600)

You could be awarded between £23,800 and £34,600 as compensation for suffering deafness in one ear as a result of an accident.

If you have suffered complete hearing loss in one ear as a result of your work environment or from an accident that was not your fault, then you could be entitled to an ear injury claim. Your compensation award is affected by how well you can hear with your remaining ear, and also if you suffer from any hearing conditions such as tinnitus.

Deaf in both ears (£69,000 ~ £83,300)

You could be awarded between £69,000 and £83,300 as compensation for suffering total deafness in both ears as a result of an accident.

Total deafness is the complete loss of hearing in both ears. If you have suffered total loss of hearing as a result of an impact injury to your head; or from your line of work; or even from medical negligence during surgery, then you could be entitled to compensation. Your compensation award can increase if speech deficiency and tinnitus are both present.
