Wish FM representatives dropped by Scott Rees & Co this week to collect the mountain of toys provided by staff, their family members and the local community here in Skelmersdale. The toy appeal looked to provide gifts for various children’s charities throughout the county and bring some cheer this Christmas period.
“A great success”
Throughout December, Wish FM’s drop off points at selected locations including local businesses and public hotspots has seen a fantastic effort from people in the region. Representatives from the radio station began their official collection by making their first round earlier this week, Scott Rees & Co being a particularly bountiful destination when it was our turn to hand over our donations.
Thanks to the generosity of the staff, their families and local residents who popped in to drop of gifts, we were able to hand over 4 sacks worth of new toys to the very thankful Wish FM staff. With the campaign running up until Christmas, a second pickup will still be made for further toy donations in the run-up to the big day.
Scott Rees & Co Marketing Partner David Byrne hailed the campaign as “a great success”, saying “we’re really pleased to hand over such a good selection of gifts for both boys and girls of all ages. We wanted to provide local children the chance to enjoy Christmas and I think everybody here can be proud that we’ve definitely done our part to ensure that happens.”
Helping those in need
With Wish FM still accepting donations, we urge anybody who hasn’t donated who would like to, to still drop by our office or one of the drop off locations. More pickups will be arranged to collect new donations over the next week.
As an official sponsor of the event we would like to thank Wish FM for running a very successful campaign which will see many local children enjoy some well deserved gifts this Christmas. It has been a pleasure to do our bit for the local community.
