Scott Rees Partner, Chris Walker (pictured) has been re-elected to continue his work as the chair of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) Liverpool branch.

Joining Chris on the committee this year will be Stephanie Houghton who has stepped up to replace Cheryl Rose to take over as vice chair and Adrian Turner who will take over the post of secretary. Dave Brown will remain as treasurer.

The announcement came after CILEx held their Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 23rd March. Chris was delighted to be invited to continue for a second year. He said: “I am pleased with my committee and think we have the correct mixture of talented lawyers to take our branch onto the next stage.”

Chris has enjoyed an eventful first year as chair and was responsible for arranging the first ever Liverpool Legal Walk back in October which raised in excess of £2,000 for the North West Legal Support Trust (NWLT) who help those who are most disadvantage financially.

He also oversaw the Liverpool branch’s Annual Ball which helped to raise money for the more than worthwhile children’s charity, Zoe’s place. The ball, which was held on the back of CILEx‘s 50th Anniversary, took place at the Liverpool Marriott Hotel on the 8th March was a huge success.

Chris said: “It is a very exciting time for CILEx and all of its members who continue to work hard and add value to the legal services provided to their clients.”

The evening also saw one of CILEx Liverpool’s members, Julie Foster receive her graduation certificate as well.
