Scott Rees managing partner completes London marathon

Congratulations are in order for the 40,000+ competitors in this year’s London marathon last weekend. From the elite runners to the fancy dress to the mini marathon for younger runners, it was business as usual around the capital. Just attempting the feat is testament to those who crossed the start line (waved on by Prince William).

From a company perspective, huge congratulations go out to our very own Founding Partner Daniel Rees who ran and finished. Running an excellent time of 3 hours 8 minutes, Dan flew the flag of Scott Rees & Co proudly.

Daniel Rees London Marathon 2017

Regular runner

Dan Rees London Marathon ParticipantWe have previously reported on Dan’s running exploits and this year looks set to be no different. A regular marathon runner for many years, Daniel often raises money for charity in the process. During last week’s marathon he passed the half way mark at 1 hour 30. He didn’t quite break the 3 hour mark but still finished with a fantastic time for his category.

With many of the club and ballot runners generating times between 2 hours 15 to 2 hours 30, Dan’s 3 hour 8 minute finish shows he can more than keep up with runners in the younger age categories.

Feel good weekend

The festivities of the weekend brought out the very best in the participants and audience as we saw charity runners dressed in a myriad of costumes from snowmen, to Mr Men to a few even braving the race barefoot for various charities.

The highlight of the race had to be the help Swansea Harrier runner Matthew Rees gave to a struggling runner just before the finish line. Matthew ignored his own finish time to help fellow runner David Wyeth cross the line.
