Scott Rees Welcome New Solicitor & Paralegal

Recruitment at Scott Rees & Co continues, as we are happy to announce yet more new faces ready to drive the company forward and keep us in the upper echelons of the UK personal injury sector. Joining us this past month, have been Solicitor Christopher Bakker and Paralegal Lydia Maddox.

Scott Rees & Co Solicitor & Paralegal

Right into the action

Both new staff members quickly settled into life at Scott Rees & Co. After getting just enough time to lay their desk out how they liked, and having taken their first trips to the coffee machines, we caught up with them to ask about their first experiences with Scott Rees & Co and get a little bit about their background.

Lydia Maddox is our newest addition to the Paralegal team, coming to us from nearby Upholland, but originating from Ormskirk. She had heard about Scott Rees & Co from her time in college, as well as a member of her family previously working for the firm. With close family ties to the company she was able to quickly make her mind up about joining the team, after impressing at interview.

Being a Paralegal, Lydia enjoys being able to help clients on their way to getting the compensation they deserve. She is also pleased about the amount of quality experience she’ll be able to gain with us and the training opportunities provided to help her in her legal career.

Outside of work Lydia has an outgoing personality at heart, playing netball and singing in her spare time. She told us that since joining Scott Rees & Co, she’s been able to enhance her confidence at speaking to new people, as it’s now part of her everyday tasks.

Christopher Bakker is our second addition to the team this month, joining our already experienced ranks of Solicitors and adding Chris’ name to our books certainly gives us even more reasons to brag about our staff.

Specialising in Road Traffic Accident litigation, Christopher comes to us from his hometown of Bolton, via graduating from his LLB & LPC at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Coming from a very strong legal background, including family members within the Crown Prosecution Service, Christopher was always destined for a Law career.

Dedicated to achieving excellent settlements in challenging cases, Christopher comes to us after already being aware of our reputation in the legal sector, through his time at rival firms Keoghs, Silverback Rymer and Bott & Co.

After speaking to a friend, who also works for Scott Rees & Co,  he was convinced we were the right place for him to take his next steps in an already distinguished legal career.

A warm welcome

Scott Rees & Co Senior Partner Royston Smith has been more than welcoming to the two new starters. He told us “with both Lydia and Christopher having roots in the company, it’s been incredibly easy for them to slot into the atmosphere and ethos of Scott Rees & Co.”

“Lydia is a promising Paralegal with many opportunities to progress with us, whereas Christopher has already displayed an enviable pedigree within the profession and is a valuable asset to any firm. We were very pleased to have them join us and I look forward to working with them both”.

With new additions coming in regularly, Scott Rees & Co’s team continues to grow, enhancing our ability to provide our clients with the very best service and hopefully the best results to their personal injury claims.
