Six New Partners Including First Non-Lawyer Appointment
PERSONAL injury specialists Scott Rees & Co has announced six new senior appointments – including their first non-lawyer partner.
The Lancashire based firm of solicitors which employs 165 members of staff, has considerably strengthened its management profile by appointing a total of six new partners.
Finance Manager Stuart McKinnon will be the first non-lawyer to be made a partner alongside internal promotions for solicitors Nigat Ahmed, James Driscoll, Karla Kingston, and Chris Walker who all work extensively in the personal injury field.
The firm is also welcoming back solicitor Simon Shaw in the role of Partner. Simon had previously worked for the firm for four years and rejoins Scott Rees from the Paul Rooney Partnership.
Scott Rees provides large scale claims handling expertise for a wide variety of accidents, including accidents on the road, in the workplace and in public places.
It also provides legal services in conveyancing, wills and probate, and debt recovery.

Nigat Ahmed, Partner
Nigat qualified as a solicitor in 2004. She speaks fluent Urdu and Punjabi and regularly assists people for whom English is not their first language. Nigat studied law at the University of Birmingham and Manchester Metropolitan University.
James Driscoll, Partner
James, who lives in Liverpool, joined Scott Rees & Co in 2002, qualified as a solicitor in 2003. He studied law at the University of Central Lancashire and the College of Law in Chester.
Karla Kingston, Partner
Karla, from Bolton, studied law at Manchester Metropolitan University and the College of Law in Chester. She qualified as a solicitor in 2003 and four years later was made an Associate.
Stuart McKinnon, FCCA, Partner
Stuart joined the firm in 2004 as Finance Manager. He has worked extensively in the manufacturing and service sectors. He graduated in Accounting and Finance at Liverpool Polytechnic and subsequently qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1995. Later he studied for a Masters in Business Administration through Open University.
Simon Shaw, Partner
Simon rejoined Scott Rees as a Partner in August 2009 from the Paul Rooney Partnership and has been working in the personal injury claims sector since 1996. He studied law at Liverpool John Moores University and qualified in 1998.
Chris Walker, Partner
Chris has been working in personal injury litigation since 1997 and joined Scott Rees in 1999. He specialises in complex catastrophic and serious injury cases featuring brain injuries, internal injuries and orthopaedic injuries.
