Scott Rees & Co Solicitors are bucking the ‘credit crunch gloom’ with the appointment of 26 trainee paralegals.
Over the past three months, the Skelmerdale firm which offers a number of services including personal injury, conveyancing, debt recovery and wills and probate has been on a recruitment drive to attract new talent.
Pauline Shaw, Head of Human Resources at Scott Rees, said: “It has been an incredibly busy time for us. We have appointed a large number of trainee paralegals to help us with the significant volume of work that the firm is undertaking.
“They will carry out their training with us here at Scott Rees and it is hoped that they will continue to develop their careers with the firm.
“We are committed to offering people opportunities to develop their careers. Several members of staff have joined at a junior level and progressed to senior roles - not least the Managing Partner Royston Smith. He joined the firm as a Legal Executive, quickly progressed to become a solicitor, subsequently became a Partner and is now Managing Partner of the firm.”
In addition, to the new trainee paralegals, seven paralegals, four fee earners, a solicitor, a cost draftsmen, a legal secretary, and a credit hire manager have also joined the firm helping to boost the total number of staff at Scott Rees to 185.
