Chance To Shine Youngsters Inspire Scott

CRICKET mad youngsters are inspiring Scott Rees & Co Solicitors!

With all the excitement of the World Twenty20 tournament, sponsors Scott Rees dropped by to visit Skelmersdale Cricket Club – a new ‘Chance to Shine’ club.

Chance to Shine is a national campaign by the Cricket Foundation to get more youngsters playing cricket, and Skelmersdale Cricket Club is one of only a handful of North West areas selected to take part for the first time this year.

Youngsters from Woodlands Primary School and St John’s Catholic Primary School in Skelmersdale were practising their bowling, batting, fielding and wicket keeping with Lancashire CC coach James Cutt when solicitor Simon Tansey, of Scott Rees dropped by.

Scott Rees is a leading firm of North West personal injury lawyers and is sponsoring Skelmersdale Cricket Club for the second year running.

David Byrne, Marketing Partner at Scott Rees said: “It’s great to see so many youngsters, both boys and girls, playing cricket and getting the best advice and coaching from people who play the game professionally and to very high standards.

“No doubt the excitement of the World Twenty20 tournament will be inspiring lots of youngsters and hopefully we can bring that enthusiasm to life. You never know, there might be a future Freddie Flintoff in our midst!”

Chance to Shine is the single biggest school-sport development initiative ever undertaken in Britain and recognises the power of competitive cricket to help young people acquire good skills, values and attitudes.

Andy Donnelly of Skelmersdale Cricket Club, explained: “Taking part in the Chance to Shine campaign is great for the club and the local community. It’s wonderful to see so many youngsters at the club, enjoying the games, keeping fit and making friends.

“Our thanks go to Scott Rees for their continued support which is invaluable for a local amenity like ourselves.”
