A very common question asked by people is: “How much do you charge (for your service)?”
This will depend on whether your claim is successful or not. If you lose, then you do not pay us anything. If you win, we will always aim to keep the sum you pay to us from your damages to a minimum.
You ‘win’ your claim if your opponents agree to pay (or the court awards) you compensation. If you win, you will be responsible for the payment of our basic charges, our success fee, our disbursements and statutory interest. However, you are entitled to seek recovery from the other side of our disbursements and statutory interest, and also a contribution towards our basic charges.
Under the ‘no win no fee’ agreement we can charge a success fee if your claim is won as we are agreeing to take the risk of not being paid at all should you lose. This is capped at a maximum of 25% of the damages awarded to you and is deducted from the compensation award when it is received. This should not be seen as a loss to you as you are still financially rewarded for your damages and have had nothing to pay for since the beginning.
The majority of personal injury claims that we take on are on a no win no fee basis, which means there are zero upfront costs. For the small minority of claims that aren’t no win no fee, there is an upfront cost but this will be made clear to you from the very beginning of your potential claim.
Making a no win no fee claim
When you submit a claim with Scott Rees & Co your claim will initially be assessed in detail by one of our claim advisors. They will determine whether or not your claim is likely to be successful depending on factors such as the mechanism of your accident, the potential defendant to your claim and the effects of your injury on the quality of your life.
From here we will advise you on the best course of action and if our assessment concludes that your case could be successful, then we will guarantee you that our solicitors will dedicate our time, effort and expertise towards getting the right result for you.
If you would like more information about our no win no fee policy or you would like you start a claim with us, then call us or submit an online claim form.
