Reduction mammoplasty

Reduction mammoplasty can be known as breast reduction. Breast reduction is an operation to reduce the weight and volume of the breast by removing fat, skin and glandular tissue.

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy can be abbreviated to RSD. This condition is officially called complex regional pain syndrome and is often the result of trauma or surgery. See CRPS for the definition.

Repetitive strain injury

Repetitive strain injury can be abbreviated to RSI. The pain usually affects the arms, shoulders and neck and it is caused by repetitive movement and overuse of the muscles, nerves and tendons.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is more commonly recognised as nose job surgery. Rhinoplasty is an operation to resize or reshape the nose. It is often done for cosmetic reasons to help boost self-confidence.

Rhytidectomy

Rhytidectomy is more commonly recognised as face lift surgery. It involves removing excess skin and fat from the face and tightening certain face muscles to create a younger and fresher appearance.

Rib injury

Rib injuries can occur in road traffic accidents such as car collisions and motorbike crashes.

Road traffic accident

Road traffic accident can be abbreviated to RTA. A RTA means an accident resulting in bodily injury to any person caused by a motor vehicle on a road or public place in England and Wales.
